Marco D'Avola (°1959) est un compositeur, organiste et pianiste sicilien. Il a obtenu ses diplômes au Conservatoire de Musique "Vincenzo Bellini" de Palerme, avec le maximum des points et "summa cum laude". Il a suivi ensuite de nombreux stages avec Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Arturo Sacchetti (Radio Vatican), Odile Pierre, Oscar Mischiati, Bruno Canino, Jorg Demus, Paul Badura Skoda, Maria Regina Seidlhofer et Gjorgy Sandor.
En tant qu'organiste, il a donné de nombreux récitals en Europe, aux États-Unis et en Russie pour les plus importants festivals internationaux d'orgues.
En tant que compositeur, il a écrit un nombre considérable d'œuvres symphoniques, d’œuvres pour chorales ou instrumentales, notamment: la "Messa di Requiem", dédiée au pape Jean-Paul II au Vatican; cinq concertos pour orgue et orchestre; deux concertos pour piano et orchestre; le "Te Deum"; le "Stabat Mater"; la "Sinfonia degli Hyblaei"; trois sonates pour orgue; Toccatas et fugues; deux Oratorios sacrés ou le Concerto pour violoncelle et orchestre op. 36
Marco D'Avola est membre du «Royal College of Organists» de Londres et du «Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians» (États-Unis). Il est également: organiste titulaire de la cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Raguse, professeur d'orgue à l'Académie musicale de Modica et directeur artistique du Festival international d'orgue "Città di Ragusa". DAVOLA Marco1Marco D'Avola (°1959) is een componist, organist en pianist uit Sicilië. Aan het conservatorium “Vincenze Bellini” in Palermo studeerde hij af met “summa cum laude”. Daarna volgden vele stages bij o.a. Tagliavani, Sacchetti, Canino, Sandor, ... Als organist speelde hij talrijke recitals in Europa, de VSA en Rusland tijens internationale orgelfestivals. Als componist schreef hij symfonische werken voor koor en instrumenten. De “Messa di Requiem”, 5 concerto's voor orgel en orkest, 2 concerto's voor piano en orkest : “Te Deum” en “Stabat Mater”, 3 sonates voor orgel, Toccato's en Fuga's. Marco D'Avola is lid van van het “Royal College of Organists” van Londen en van het “Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians” van de VSA. Marco D’Avola is a Fellow of the “Royal College of Organists”, London and of “Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians” (U.S.A.). He his also: Titular Organist of St. John the Baptist Cathedral of Ragusa, Organ Professor at Modica Musical Academy and Artistic Director of the “Città di Ragusa” International Organ Festival.
