Constantin Macherel est lauréat de concours dont plusieurs 1ers prix au Concours Suisse des Jeunesses Musicales. En novembre 2012, il gagne le 1er prix du Schweizer Solisten Vorspiel pour son interprétation du concerto de violoncelle de Schumann avec le Aargauer Sinfonie Orchester. En 2013, il est lauréat de la bourse de la Fondation Leenaards encourageant les jeunes artistes puis en 2018, il gagne le 2ème prix du Rahn Musikpreis für Streicher. En 2019, il gagne un prix spécial au « Klaipeda International Cello Competition ». Il est également soutenu par des fondations suisses dont il reçoit des prix : Irène Denéréaz, Casino Barrière de Montreux, Concours Nicati-de Luze, Fritz Gerber Stiftung, Schenk Stiftung für junge Solisten.
Constantin Macherel se produit principalement en soliste et en récital en Suisse, Belgique, Angleterre, France, Italie, Autriche, Hollande, République Tchèque, Allemagne, ceci dans des séries et festivals tels que Lavaux Classique, Musique et Prodige, Ensemble en Scène, WEMP festival, Crystal Palace Festival, Festival Piatigorsky, Appeldoorn Chamber Music Festival, la Tribune des Jeunes Musiciens RTS. En qualité de soliste, il collabore entre autres avec les London Mozart Players, Geringas Chamber Orchestra, le Sonoro Quartett, St-Petersburg Taurida State Orchestra, Aarau Sinfonie Orchester, Orchestre OQPL, Karlsbad Sinfonie Orchester et bien d’autres.
Né à Lausanne en 1991 dans une famille de musiciens, Constantin Macherel commence l’étude de son instrument avec Marc Jaermann puis Susan Rybicki-Varga au Conservatoire de musique de Lausanne, où il obtient un Bachelor in Arts en 2012. La même année il est reçu dans la classe d’Ivan Monighetti à La Musik-Akademie Basel accomplissant un Master Performance en 2014. De 2014 à 2018, il se perfectionne à la Zürcher Hochschule der Künste dans la classe du violoncelliste Raphael Wallfisch obtenant un Master spécialisé Soliste puis un Post-graduate. Il suit également des Masterclasses de David Geringas, Karina Georgian, Giovanni Sollima, Natalia Gutman et France Springuel.
Constantin Macherel joue un violoncelle historique anglais de Joseph Hill I datant environ de 1765. Passionné également pour la composition, il écrit ses premières pièces vers l’âge de 14 ans écrivant pour toute sorte d’instruments et formations. Il a étudié ce domaine avec les compositeurs William Blank, Georg Haas, Caspar Walter à la Musik-Akademie Basel. Il reçoit plusieurs commandes, dont une de la harpiste Tjasha Gafner présentée à l’occasion du Festival 4 Saisons. Il a actuellement plusieurs projets en cours, dont un concerto pour violoncelle, ensemble de bassons et xylophone.

Constantin Macherel is a prizewinner of various competitions including several 1st prizes at the Jeunesses Musicales Swiss Competition. In November 2012, he wins the 1st prize of the Schweizer Solisten Vorspiel for his interpretation of Schumann's cello concerto with the Aargauer Sinfonie Orchester. Born in Lausanne in 1991 into a family of musicians, Constantin Macherel begins studying his instrument with Marc Jaermann and then Susan Rybicki-Varga at the Conservatoire de Musique de Lausanne, where he obtains a Bachelor in Arts in 2012. The same year he is accepted in Ivan Monighetti's class at the Musik-Akademie Basel, completing a Master Performance in 2014. From 2014 to 2018, he studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in the class of cellist Raphael Wallfisch, obtaining a specialized Master's degree in Soloist and later a Post-graduate degree. He also attended master classes with David Geringas, Karina Georgian, Giovanni Sollima, Natalia Gutman and France Springuel. Constantin Macherel plays a historical English cello by Joseph Hill I dating from around 1765.
Also passionate about composing, he writes his first pieces at the age of 14, writing for all kinds of instruments and formations. He studied this field with the composers William Blank, Georg Haas, Caspar Walter at the Musik-Akademie Basel. He received several commissions, including one from the harpist Tjasha Gafner presented at the 4 Seasons Festival. He currently has several projects in progress, including a concerto for cello, bassoon ensemble and xylophone.
Constantin Macherel's eerste cd als solist met de London Mozart Players (uitgegeven door Claves records) is bekroond met 5 Diapasons in 2019 en geprezen door internationale critici.
